Ashley Forward wanted to be a politician but was moved to pursue nursing because of COVID-19

19-year-old as Ashley Forward, of Lynn, the woman killed in the fatal wrong-way car accident that occurred as a robber was fleeing police, wanted to be a politician but was moved to pursue nursing after living through the pandemic, her mother Michelle Luongo says.

“She was so headstrong and wanted to do so much. I was so proud of her. She made me proud every day, and I’m going to miss that the most,” Luongo said.

Luongo explained that on the day of the accident, Ashley was headed home to get her Target work uniform, merely miles away from home.

Forward was killed when William Leger, 35, of Somerville, was attempting to flee police after a 7-Eleven robbery.
