Knoxville car crash death of Dylan Braden |Obituary|
26-year-old Lake City resident Dylan Braden has been identified as the victim of a fatal Knoxville, Tennessee car crash that occurred on Interstate 75 on Sunday, August 15, 2021. According to officials, the accident was caused by a tree that had fallen on the road. Two other people sustained injuries in the North Knoxx County accident.
Police say Braden was driving north on the interstate when he struck the fallen tree. He then got out of the vehicle to inspect for damage. A second driver, identified as 33-year-old Jess Goforth from Charlotte, North Carolina, managed to dodge the tree and got out to help Braden.
A third driver, 61-year-old Tammy Harrell from Clinton, crashed into a concrete wall in an attempt to dodge the tree. The vehicle then hit both Braden and Goforth, the two that had earlier gotten out of their vehicles.
Dylan Braden was killed on the spot, while Goforth and Harrell sustained injuries and were taken to UT Medical Center.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
