Jackson County Car Crash Death of Lamonda Rose Gifford – Obituary

34-year-old Dutton woman, Lamonda Rose Gifford, died in a fatal Jackson County, Alabama car crash that occurred on Tuesday, August 31, 2021. The crash, which also left 3 people with injuries, occurred when the Chevy Suburban she was driving veered over the centerline and collided with a 2007 Ford Focus. Police say it occurred at about 3:40 p.m. on Alabama 79 in the area of Jackson County 30.

After the impact, the Focus, driven by 49-year-old Michael Anthony, went on to hit a 2005 Dodge Ram that was being driven by Johnathan Lee Houston, aged 37.

Lamonda was left with fatal injuries to which she succumbed at a local hospital. A passenger in the Ram, identified as 30-year-old Daniel Devers, sustained injuries and is being treated at a local hospital. Houston and another occupant of the Ram did sustain minor injuries but were not taken to the hospital for treatment.
