Lima Shooting Death of Davion Latson – Obituary
25-year-old Lima man, Davion Latson has died while his father, 45-year-old Michael Latson was left with injuries in a Lima shooting that occurred on Sunday, September 5, 2021. It happened in the 100 block of S. Perry Street in Lima and led to a car crash at North and Perry Streets.
Police were dispatched to S. Perry Street after reports of shots fired in the area. At the same time, reports about a roll-over accident were received. Police arrived at the crash scene to find a man in the vehicle with a bullet wound to the abdomen. Police determined that the man was from the shooting incident that was earlier reported.
Demarco Morris, a 31-year-old Lima resident, was identified as the shooter. He now faces felony charges and remains in custody.

LIMA — A Lima father and son were involved in a shooting and car accident late Sunday night that saw the son die and the father transported to the hospital.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was identified as Lima resident Davion Latson, 25, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His father, Michael Latson, 45, was also in the vehicle and was transported to Mercy Health — St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment.
The shooting occurred at the 100 block of S. Perry Street in Lima.
At 11:47 p.m., officers from the Lima Police Department were sent to the 100 block of S. Perry Street, in reference to shots fired. Almost simultaneously, a report came in about a roll-over crash near the intersection of North and Perry Streets. As officers arrived at both scenes, it was discovered the driver of the roll-over crash had been shot once in the abdomen.
Officers determined that the vehicle came from the shooting incident and identified Demarco Morris, 31, a Lima resident originally from Toledo, as the shooter. He was taken into custody around 5 a.m. on Monday morning and was held on suspicion of murder at Allen County Jail.
