Town of Western Motorcycle Crash Death of Mehdi Tayefeh of Rome – Obituary

67-year-old Mehdi Tayefeh, of Rome, has died in a fatal Town of Western motorcycle-car crash that occurred on Route 46 on Thursday, September 16, 2021. It happened at about  5 p.m. when Medhi crashed into the rear of a Chevy Traverse in an attempt to pass it.

According to official reports, Earl D. Turner of Kentucky was headed north in an SUV on Rouet 46. He stopped in order to turn left onto Mian Street.

Traffic began to pile up behind the Traverse and Mehdi, while on a 2013 Suzuki motorcycle, passed several vehicles before crashing into the rear of the Traverse. Officers has said the area in which the accident occurred has been designated a no-pass zone.

Medhi was thrown off the bike and suffered serious injuries.

Mehdi was taken to Rome Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
