Clayton Hit and Run Death of Edgardo Antonio Medina of Raleigh – Obituary

32-year-old Edgardo Antonio Medina, of Raleigh, has died in a fatal Clayton, N.C. pedestrian-car crash that occurred on Highway  70 on Sunday, October 3, 2021. The hit-and-run accident happened when Edgardo got out of the Silverado he was in after a fight inside.

According to official reports, Edgardo was in a Silverado on U.S. Highway 70 Business in the area of Yates Drive. At about 6:30 a.m., a fight with another man in the vehicle broke out, and they stopped the vehicle partly in the right lane of travel.

A GMC Acadia then struck both men and the Silverado, leaving Edgardo with fatal injuries. Edgardo was pronounced dead from the injuries sustained.

The other man was also hit but was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene and dragged Edgardo a few feet.

The GMC that struck the men fled the scene and police are trying to identify both vehicle and driver. If anyone has any information about a white or silver Acadia with front-end damage, you are asked to contact Clayton police at 919-553-4611.
