Lake City Car Crash Death of Columbia High School Student Nevaeh Highsmith – Obituary

A 15-year-old teenager, Nevaeh Highsmith, has died in a fatal Jacksonville, FL car crash that occurred in Lake City on Thursday, October 7, 2021. It happened when the 15-year-old driver of the vehicle that Navaeh and other teens were in went off the road and struck a tree after encountering a deer in the road.

According to 17-year-old Tomorion Freeman, a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash, there was a deer in the road. The driver swerved hard causing the vehicle to roll before striking a tree.

The crash left 3 other teens with minor injuries while the fourth sustained what has been described as serious injuries. He is recovering well in hospital, according to reports.

All the teens involved in the crash are students at Columbia High School and Nevaeh was a sophomore. At the time of the accident, the driver did not have a license. Police have not said if charges will be filed.
