Lompoc Officer Shooting Death of Travis Daniel Carlon

32-year-old Travis Daniel Carlon has died in a fatal Lompoc Police officer shooting that occurred on Saturday, October 9, 2021. It happened when police were called to a residence about an assault with a deadly weapon.

Three officers arrived at the residence and when they got to the door behind which Travis had barricaded himself, he approached the door and pointed the gun at them. The officers opened fire and fatally struck Travis. He was pronounced dead from the bullet wounds sustained in the shooting.

The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office is helping with the investigation. An outside agency often investigates fatal encounters between officers and suspects.
