Glendale police shooting death of Anthony Hood-Schaffner – Obituary
28-year-old Anthony Hood-Schaffner, has died in a fatal Glendale police shooting that occurred on Thursday, April 14, 2022. The shooting happened at about 2:15 a..m. close to Olive and 63rd Avenue.
According to official reports, officers received a call from a woman about her boyfriend making threats to her while armed with a gun.
On arrival, police made contact with Anthony who fled on foot and ultimately ended up barricading himself in a trailer he had broken into.
Officers attempted to use a K-9 unit but Anthony shot the handler, promoting SWAT to open fire at him.
Anthony was left with severe injuries to which he succumbed at the scene.
The shooting is under investigation and more details will be made available.
