Cardinal Village Danville shooting death of Shafi Yassin Rasheed – Obituary
20-year-old Shafi Yassin Rasheed, of Danville, has died in a fatal Danville Shooting that occurred on Saturday, April 17, 2022. The shooting happened in the 600 block of Edmonds Street at an apartment complex.
According to official reports, the shooter called 911 and told police he shot Shafi in self-defence. The shooting is said to have been over a female acquaintance. Shafi Yassin Rashee approached the shooter and opened fire at him prompting him to fire back and hit Shafi who died at a local hospital.
After an initial investigation and going through CCTV footage, authorities have decided not to file charges at this time.
The shooting is under investigation and more details will be made available.
