Donavan Normandin of Columbus and Samantha Ward of Millport, Alabama die in fatal Lowndes County car crash – Tuesday, April 19, 2022
According to Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant, two persons died Tuesday night in Lowndes County following a crash on Highway 45 North.
Around 9:30 p.m., it happened just south of Hank’s BBQ. Three automobiles were involved in the accident.
The fatalities were eventually identified as Donavan Normandin, 19, of Columbus, and his passenger Samantha Ward, 17, of Millport, Alabama, by the coroner.
He stated that they were traveling south when they crossed into the oncoming lane and crashed with an SUV.
One of Amory Police Department’s school resource officers was involved in the collision, according to the department.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the SUV collided with the third car as a result of the incident.
The drivers of the other two automobiles involved were also sent to a hospital in Columbus.
