Centerville car crash death of Laura Walsh of Hyannis – obituary
According to an email from Barnstable Police Lt. Mark Mellyn, Laura Walsh, 34, of Hyannis, was the single casualty in an early Saturday morning Centerville collision.
According to the first press release, responding officials from the Centerville-Osterville-Marstons-Mills (COMM) Fire Department were summoned to the scene of the incident, 695 South Main St., at 1:41 a.m., where they discovered Walsh still stuck in the car.
When rescue crews arrived, the car, a 2011 Toyota 4Runner, had impacted numerous utility poles and was lying on its side off the road. Mellyn stated that it was the only car involved in the incident.
Walsh was extracted from the truck using hydraulic extrication equipment. According to the news announcement, she was pronounced dead shortly after.
