Cameron County car crash death of Benjamin Caballero and Mario Antonio Solis Sumano – Obituary
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, two Weslaco citizens Benjamin Caballero and Mario Antonio Solis Sumano were pronounced dead and three others were injured in a head-on collision in Cameron County on Wednesday evening.
The fatal collision occurred at 5:49 p.m. on FM 506, south of the Cameron/Willacy County boundary.
According to DPS, a 2015 white Chevrolet Spark was heading north on the wrong side of the road in a no-passing zone when it collided with a 2018 silver Chevrolet Camaro traveling south.
The driver of the Chevrolet Spark, 36-year-old Benjamin Caballero, and the passenger, 41-year-old Mario Antonio Solis Sumano, were both killed at the site. They were both Weslaco residents.
