Anderson County car crash death of Stephen Scott Gurley Jr. of Starr – Obituary
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a driver who was wounded in an Upstate incident more than a week ago has died. He has been identified as Stephen Scott Gurley Jr., 33, of Starr.
Gurley was hurt in the April 9 accident on Dobbins Bridge Road near Michelin Boulevard at 3:40 a.m., according to troopers.
Gurley was driving a 2005 Chrysler sedan east on Dobbins Bridge Road when the vehicle crossed the centerline, skidded off the left side of the road, and collided with a highway sign and a tree, according to authorities.
Gurley was flown by helicopter to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital, where he died on April 14, according to the coroner’s office.
