Baton Rouge shooting death of Alashia Collins – Obituary
According to Baton Rouge police, the young victim of a shooting at Broadmoor Plantation Apartments on Friday evening was slain as she attempted to flee the property following a confrontation.
Alashia Collins, 17, was involved in a dispute at the apartments and was shot as she attempted to flee in a car, according to BRPD spokeswoman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Joshua London, 23, and Queriana Richard, 20, were arrested and lodged in East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. London is charged with second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, while Richard is charged with obstruction of justice.
McKneely stated that the inquiry into the event is still underway.
