Salem Twp Monroe County car crash death of Ashtyn Grace Lee – Obituary
The name of the 16-year-old female who died in a collision on State Route 556 in Salem Township, Monroe County, has been named by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.
Ashtyn Grace Lee, the adolescent, was identified as the victim of the fatal crash.
Lee, of Sardis, OH, and a 16-year-old female passenger from Clarington, OH, were driving west on State Route 556. The car went out of control, went off the side of the road, and eventually toppled.
The passenger was taken from the scene to WVU Wetzel County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released, according to officials.
According to police, illegal passing and speed are also suspected factors in the incident, and the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
The crash is still being investigated.
