Crown Hotel Longton death of Barry Jones – Obituary
Barry Jones, 47, was pronounced dead at the Crown Hotel in Longton. Police found the man’s body crouched by the side of the bed in his hotel room.
He had taken a mix of illicit and prescribed medications, culminating in a ‘fatal overdose,’ according to medical testing. He had been battling an addiction from the age of 15, according to an inquiry.
Barry had been sober for two years after completing eight weeks of rehabilitation, according to the inquiry. He’d already ingested monkey dust and heroin.
“He had been living in hostels for the previous couple of years,” North Staffordshire assistant coroner Sukhdev Garcha said in a statement.
