Fisher car crash death of Christopher J. Lonis of Aurora and Gordon W. Bane Jr. of Downs – Obituary
— FISHER The drivers of two cars involved in a head-on collision west of Fisher on Thursday, April 21, 2022 were named as Christopher J. Lonis of Aurora and Gordon W. Bane Jr. of Downs.
Christopher J. Lonis, 50, of Aurora, and Gordon W. Bane Jr., 78, of Downs, were declared dead at the scene at 9:31 p.m., according to Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup, with preliminary autopsy results showing they died from blunt-force injuries.
The accident happened at 8:22 p.m. on Illinois 47, about a half-mile north of Illinois 136. There were no passengers on board.
The Illinois State Police and Northrup’s office were investigating the collision.
