Haddam house fire death of Donald Thody – Obituary
An 85-year-old man, Donald Thody, was pronounced dead following a home fire in Haddam on Thursday, April 21, 2022. The fatal Haddam house fire occurred on Plains Road at about 3 p.m.
Around 3 p.m., the Connecticut State Police Fire and Investigation Unit was asked to assist in the investigation of a fire at a residence on Plains Road in Haddam.
The Haddam Fire Department and other first responders investigated the house while battling the fire and discovered Donald Thody, 85.
Thody was taken out of the house and treated by first responders. He was subsequently transported to Middlesex Hospital, where he was declared dead, according to police.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that Thody died as a result of smoke inhalation, thermal injuries, and other serious ailments.
