Carbondale car crash death of Marie A. Meunier of Cape Girardeau – Obituary
A memorial will be held Friday night at Southern Illinois University (SIU) Carbondale for two students who were killed in a vehicle accident on Route 3 on Thursday, April 21, 2022, in the morning.
Pavan Swarna, a graduate student in computer science, and Vamshi Krishna Pechetty, a graduate student in computer science.
The vigil will be held at the Becker Pavilion on Campus Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022
Three additional SIU graduate students were hurt in the crash, which occurred at 4:15 a.m. Thursday on Route 3, north of McClure, Illinois.
The students were transferred to a nearby hospital, but according to Illinois State Police, their injuries were not life-threatening.
Marie A. Meunier, 32, of Cape Girardeau, was also killed in the crash.
