Southgate car incident death of Monroe Middle School girl Angelina Jones – Obituary

A Monroe Middle School girl, Angelina Jones, died as a result of injuries sustained after jumping from a moving automobile driven by her mother in Southgate.

Dr. Julie Everly, Superintendent of Monroe Public Schools, named the victim as Angelina Jones, 14, an eighth-grade student at MMS.

The incident happened at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 17, according to the Southgate Police Department. According to preliminary investigations, the mother, 33, of Monroe, was driving northbound on Fort Street near Pennsylvania Road with her two kids as passengers.

According to police, the mother and Angelina were bickering when the girl leaped out of the moving vehicle, causing significant injuries to Angelina. She was initially classified in serious condition, but died from her injuries on Wednesday, according to authorities.
