Harford County car crash death of Raul Alejandro Smith – Obituary
Raul Alejandro Smith, 36, of Edgewood died Thursday, April 21, 2022 afternoon in a fatal Harford County car crash involving three vehicles including a tractor-trailer.
Troopers were dispatched to Emmorton Road and Philadelphia Road in the Abingdon area at 2:40 p.m. for an accident.
A tractor-trailer driver was heading north on Emmorton Road, while a vehicle and SUV were traveling south. According to police, the tractor-trailer driver failed to stop at a red turn signal and continued on Philadelphia Road, striking the automobile. The SUV swerved to escape the collision, but a portion of the automobile collided with the SUV before it veered off the road.
The driver of the automobile, Raul Alejandro Smith, 36, of Edgewood, was transferred to a nearby hospital and died.
