Pike County motorcycle crash death of William A. Christie – Obituary

A Hillsboro man, William A. Christie, 76, was killed in a fatal Pike County motorcycle accident that occurred on Friday, April 22, 2022, on Bell Hollow Road.

According to the Portsmouth Post of the Highway Patrol, the incident happened at 6 p.m. on Bell Hollow Road in northwest Pike County. William A. Christie, 76, was riding southbound on a 2019 Harley-Davidson TriGlide, a three-wheeled motorbike, when he crossed into the oncoming lane, went off the left side of the road, and collided with a tree.

Christie died at the site as a result of his injuries. For almost two hours, Bell Hollow Road was blocked. The crash is still being investigated.

Motorcycle riders in Ohio are reminded to wear helmets, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

At the incident, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office, MedCare EMS, the Benton Township Fire Department, and the Pike County Coroner all helped.
