South Newberry County dog attack death of Erin Beach of Newberry – Obituary
Erin Beach of Newberry, a 45-year-old woman was killed in a horrific dog attack that occurred on Thursday, April 21, 2022, in the afternoon hours. This is according to the Newberry County Coroner’s Office.
According to Coroner Laura Kneece, the attack occurred at about 12:53 p.m. on Apple Orchard Lane in Newberry. Kneece identified the victim as Erin Beach of Newberry, and the dog in question belonged to her.
The coroner added that while the investigation into the event is ongoing, with cooperation from the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office, it is still unknown what prompted the dog attack.
The dog was eventually put down after displaying “extremely hostile behavior” against sheriff’s officers and other first responders.
