Chattooga County car crash death of Lou Anne Loggins – Obituary

On Friday morning, a Chattooga County lady was killed in a head-on accident on U.S. 27 near Old Summerville Road, just below the Ga. 140 turn.

On U.S. 27, a black Hyundai Genesis was heading north, while a Ford Escape was heading south. The Genesis crossed over and collided with the Escape near Rome Midway Primitive Baptist Church.

The Escape’s driver died as a result of his injuries. The Genesis’s driver, Joseph Hale, 50, and passenger Kenneth Thacker of Silver Creek were both brought to Atrium Health Floyd with non-life threatening injuries.

Lou Anne Loggins, 63, of Summerville, was identified as the victim by Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor. At 10:30 a.m., he pronounced her dead on the scene.
