Columbus pedestrian-car crash death of Naimo Abdirahman – Obituary
25-year-old Naimo Abdirahman has been named as the woman killed in a fatal Columbus pedestrian-car crash. The driver of the vehicle that hit the woman has been identified as Officer Demetris Ortega
Just after 2:40 a.m., the accident occurred near Morse Road and Northowne Boulevard as Ortega was driving a vehicle.
25-year-old Naimo Abdirahman was trying to get back home from a stroll, according to Richard Solomon. She was crossing the street when she was struck by a car, which then fled the scene making the case a hit and run.
Medics were dispatched to the site, where Abdirahman was declared dead despite rendering aid to the woman.
According to sources, the car involved in the collision belonged to Officer Demetris Ortega but was not a police cruiser. Later that day, he was removed of duty as investigations proceed.
