Three persons, Jorge Leos, Kai Blackwell, and Melissa Sanchez, have been detained in connection with a fatal car-to-car shooting in Colton last week. The shooting left one man with fatal injuries to which he succumbed at a local hospital.
Authorities were called to the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue on Thursday, April 14, when a man was discovered with a gunshot wound. The man was transported to a hospital, where he died the next day.
Jorge Leos, an 18-year-old Colton resident, was identified as the suspect.
Kai Blackwell, 20, was identified as a suspect in the shooting and detained in Colton on Thursday, April 21. A day later, two additional suspects were apprehended in Upland: Jacob Cabral-Sanchez, 20, and Melissa Sanchez, 51.
Blackwell and Cabral-Sanchez were arrested on suspicion of murder, while Sanchez was arrested on grounds of being an accessory to a crime.
