Powellhurst-Gilbert shooting death of Jose Monroy Castaneda – Obituary
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy, and the cause and manner of death were determined to be murder by shooting. Jose Monroy Castaneda was identified as the victim of the fatal Saturday, April 23, 2022 shooting.
His family has been informed of his passing, and they have requested privacy at this time.
This is currently an ongoing inquiry, and no other information will be given at this time.
Officers from the East Precinct on patrol discovered a person shot near SE 136th Avenue and SE Powell Blvd in the Powellhurst-Gilbert area on 4/23/2022 at around 1:12 AM.
Medical personnel responded, but the victim, an adult male, died as a result of his injuries.
