Portland shooting death of Jose Monroy Castaneda – Obituary
The man who was pronounced dead following a shooting in the Powellhurst-Gilbert area early Saturday, April 23, 2022, has been identified.
Jose Monroy Castaneda was killed in the fatal shoting that occurred in the morning.
According to a police announcement issued on Sunday, the cause of death for 52-year-old Jose Monroy Castaneda was homicide by shooting.
Officers on patrol discovered him about 1:12 a.m. close to the intersection of SE 136th Avenue and Powell Boulevard. Although medical personnel arrived on the site and attempted to render aid, Monroy was pronounced dead at the scene from his bullet wounds.
Authorities have not provided any other information on the shooting.
