Brandford car crash death of Megan Nicole Povilaitis and Siblings Robert Dudchik of East Haven and Anthony Dudchik – Obituary
Megan Nicole Povilaitis and Siblings Robert Dudchik of East Haven and Anthony Dudchik have been identified as the 3 people killed in a fatal Brandford car crash.
The identity of the young victims who died in the disaster, two East Haven residents and an East Haddam resident, were verified by the Branford Police Department one day after the terrible deaths of three engaged in a one-vehicle accident on Hosley Avenue (BPD).
According to early inquiry results, the tragic collision occurred because “the driver failed to navigate a curve in the road while going at an excessive speed.”
On April 28, police responded to an early morning accident report after a call came into the Branford Emergency Communications Center at 6:35 a.m. from a passing driver who witnessed a car go off the road but did not see the event.
The three victims were discovered at the location by Branford police and firefighters. Police collaborated with the state Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to identify the victims and notify next of kin, which was followed by the publication of the victims’ identities. Megan Nicole Povilaitis, 17, of East Haven, was identified as the operator, and the passengers as siblings Robert Dudchik, 22, of East Haven, and Anthony Dudchik, 19, of East Haddam.
