Dallas TX pedestrian-car crash death of Crystal Pineda and Andres Pineda – Obituary

DALLAS, Texas – Dallas police have published images of the guy they believe was driving the vehicle that killed two teens and wounded three more in an accident Friday night.

The suspect has been identified as Faustino Membreno Rivera, and police think he fled the area down Esperanza Road just after 9 p.m. Crystal Pineda, 16, and her brother Andres, 15, were killed after he crashed into the SUV they were in, according to police.

On Sunday, relatives and friends mourned at a memorial site near where the disaster occurred.

“I was sad because I didn’t want to think it was her,” Crystal’s friend Jacqueline Soto said.

Roberto Diaz and Miguel Guerrero, the two surviving victims of the disaster and cousins of the Pinedas, were also there. They were recently released from the hospital, but they are clearly hurt, with slashes on their faces and bodies.

“All I remember is waking up and seeing my cousin unconscious behind the wheel. Then I awoke in an ambulance “Diaz said.

“I remember seeing the truck’s headlights coming towards us and falling asleep, and when I woke up, I found him and another guy next to me, laying there practically on the windshield unconscious. I tried to rouse them up, but they were unable to do so “Guerrero stated.

They didn’t understand their beloved relatives were no longer alive at the moment.

“I saw my cousins, and they were gone, and I was stunned, and I didn’t know what to do,” Diaz recalled.

The family brought in a food truck blocks away from the collision scene to help generate money for funeral expenses. It was the same food truck from which the youngsters were attempting to obtain food that night.

“This apartment complex is home to Crystal and Andres. They were only 5 minutes away from here on their way to purchase some dinner. Their uncle owns a taco business on Coit and 635, but they didn’t make it because a drunk driver hit them “Brenda Morales, a victim’s family, spoke up.

This family is now requesting that justice be given.

“We didn’t deserve this, to be honest, not even my cousin,” Diaz added.

“I hope he receives justice for what he did, because there’s nothing we can do now,” Guerrero continued.

The funeral for Andres and Crystal will be place on Thursday, May 5.
