Franklin County Alabama dog attack death of Jacqueline Summer Beard – Obituary

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office stated Friday on Facebook that an employee of the Alabama Department of Public Health was murdered by a pack of dogs in the northern region of the state last week while responding to a report of another incident involving the same canines earlier in the week.

The Franklin County coroner pronounced Jacqueline Summer Beard dead Friday after area people phoned the police to report a strange car, according to the sheriff’s office. According to the Facebook post, officers discovered the car with Beard’s body inside it in a remote region outside Red Bay, near the Mississippi border.

Beard is thought to have been attempting to call the dog’s owner, Brandy Dowdy, 39, when the dogs murdered her, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to AL.com, the website of multiple Alabama newspapers, Beard was a 58-year-old environmental supervisor and career Public Health Department employee. It was alleged that she was following up on an incident earlier in the week in which the dogs assaulted a woman who was strolling on Friday morning. According to AL.com, the woman is still in the hospital in Mississippi.

Beard is thought to have been attempting to call the dog’s owner, whom the sheriff’s office named as Brandy Dowdy, 39, when the dogs murdered her, according to the sheriff’s office.

According to AL.com, the website of many Alabama newspapers, Beard was a 58-year-old environmental supervisor and a longstanding employee of the Public Health Department. It was alleged that on Friday morning, she was following up on an incident earlier in the week in which the dogs assaulted a woman who was walking. According to AL.com, the woman is still hospitalized in Mississippi.
