WTVD reports from JOHNSTON COUNTY, N.C. A truck driver was killed in an incident on Interstate 95 traveling north, causing traffic to be reduced to one lane for many hours.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision happened at 9:45 a.m. on Monday.
The tomato truck was on its journey from Florida to New York City.
The vehicle was heading north when it ran off the road, collided with a tree, and caught fire. The driver died on the spot.
Jason Hedgepath of Florida was confirmed as the driver on Monday evening.
