Trenton mass shooting death of Jamir McNeil – Obituary
TRENTON, NEW JERSEY (MERCER) – The Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office has named the victim of yesterday’s mass shooting as Jamir McNeil, 25, of Trenton, who is the city’s tenth homicide in 2022.
According to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri, the Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a shooting that happened Sunday afternoon in Trenton.
The Shot Spotter activation system recorded numerous shots in the 800 block of Beatty Street yesterday at around 1:30 p.m. on May 1, 2022. Several 911 calls were received moments afterwards, claiming many persons shot.
Police arrived on the site and discovered three adult male casualties with gunshot wounds. Two fatalities were discovered on the 100 block of Randall Avenue, and one on Beatty Street.
The person, who was found on Beatty Street, was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center and pronounced dead a short time later. The two other casualties are being cared for. According to preliminary investigations, two of the three gunshot victims, including the deceased, were targeted.
