Officer Tom Robinson has been identified as the officer shot and injured in this incident.
According to Greenup County Attorney Mike Wilson, this is the case. Robinson is still in the intensive care unit.
Robinson has just been with the Flatwoods Police Department for a month or two, according to Wilson.
Officers were attempting to apprehend the suspect, Jonathan Smithers, for narcotics possession when he fled the area and reportedly shot Robinson.
More charges are being prepared by state troopers and will be filed later this week.
