Dinwiddie County shooting death of Keon A. Clanton – Obituary

CHESTER, Pa. — Chesterfield Police have named Keon A. Clanton as the deceased and also identified one of the suspects in a deadly shooting at a truck stop on Sunday, May 1, 2022, in the night.

Keon A. Clanton, 35, of the 17300 block of Old Stage Road in Dinwiddie County, was shot at the Pilot Travel Center on Ruffin Mill Road at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday. He was transferred to Bon Secours Southside Medical Center in Petersburg, where he died a short time later.

Just after the gunshot, the suspects departed the area in a vehicle.

That automobile was engaged in an accident minutes later near the intersection of West Hundred Road and Route One. Darnell S. White, 32, of the 6200 block of Verdict Court in the Courthouse Greens townhouse complex, was apprehended, but the second suspect escaped.
