Birmingham shooting death of Roderick Mariachi Williams Jr. – Obituary

BIRMINGHAM, AL (WIAT) — The Birmingham Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting in Birmingham on Friday, April 29, 2022, in the night. Roderick Mariachi Williams Jr., 25, of Birmingham was pronounced dead in the shooting.

Dmarcco Montez Harris, 26, has been charged with murder and attempted murder in connection with the shooting that occurred just before 11 p.m. in the 4200 block of 2nd Avenue South.

Officers arrived on the scene to find a guy unconscious on a stairway and another unresponsive individual laying on a nearby pavement with gunshot wounds.

The first victim died at the spot, while the second was transferred to UAB Hospital.

Roderick Mariachi Williams Jr., 25, of Birmingham, was eventually identified as the deceased. Before the shooting, the two victims are said to have gotten into a fight with Harris.
