Mansfield car crash death of Kerrie Dolbashian – Obituary
Kerrie Dolbashian, 31, of Smithfield, Rhode Island has been identified as the woman killed in a fatal Mansfield car crash that occurred on Saturday, May 7, 2022. The fatal wrong-way crash happened on Interstate 495 north in Mansfield.
Authorities responded to various complaints of a wrong-way driver traveling south on the northbound side of I-495 in Mansfield shortly before 3 a.m. on Saturday.
When police arrived, they discovered a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder driven by a 35-year-old Pawtucket, Rhode Island man colliding head-on with a 2019 Toyota Camry driven by Dolbashian.
According to investigators, an investigation found that the 35-year-old Rhode Island man was driving his vehicle in the incorrect direction. Dolbashian, who was traveling in the correct way, died at the site of the accident from her injuries.
The Rhode Island man received significant injuries but is expected to live, according to officials, and was taken to Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
The identity of the operator who drove the wrong way on I-495 north has not yet been released by police.
State police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
