Newport shooting death of Nasombia Jamar Richardson – Obituary

48-year-old Nasombia Jamar Richardson has been identified as the person killed in a fatal Newport shooting that occurred on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

The incident occurred at 8:10 p.m. on the 1100 block of 73rd Street, according to the Newport News Police Department.

Officers discovered a man with potentially fatal gunshot wounds.

The man was transferred to a nearby hospital, but he died there.

Nasombia Jamar Richardson, 48, has been recognized.

The incident looked to be domestic in nature, according to police, and it was subsequently verified that the man was killed by his son.

Gabriel Maliq Sanders-Richardson, 27, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and criminal use of a firearm.
