Marquise Walker was charged with one crime of premeditated first-degree murder, one count of felony murder, one count of armed robbery, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, and three counts of felony firearm on Monday.
Walker was detained Friday night after police investigated a gunshot at a petrol station in the 8820 block of Wyoming Avenue. Around 5:46 p.m., police were summoned to the area for reports of a gunshot victim. When police arrived, they discovered the victim, Arthur Gowens of Detroit, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his chest.
Gowens was taken to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.
Walker is accused of robbing Gowens at gunpoint and then producing a pistol and shooting the victim once before leaving. Soon later, police apprehended Walker and took him into jail.
