Monique Contreraz, 29, has been identified as the woman killed in  a fatal Fresno pedestrian-car crash that occurred at a  La Quinta Inn on Cornelia Avenue.

(KSEE/KGPE) — FRESNO, Calif. A woman killed in a hit-and-run collision early Friday morning has been recognized by authorities.
Fresno police officers arrived to the motel about 2:00 a.m. Friday after someone called 911 to report finding a corpse.

When cops arrived, they discovered Contreraz’s fragmentary remains in the business’s parking lot.

Officers said they discovered Contreraz was hit by a vehicle at Herndon and Milburn avenues while investigating.

Officers allege the driver, subsequently identified as 38-year-old Shawn Ginder, carried Contreraz’s body for eight miles before stopping at the hotel after the incident.

Ginder was apprehended in Madera County the day after the incident after his truck was discovered at a residence.
