Footville Rock County car crash death of Hans Schmidt – Obituary
Hans Schmidt, 33, of Monroe has been identified as the person killed in a fatal Rock County car crash that occurred on Monday, May 16, 2022.
Schmidt was traveling west on Highway 11 at Roherty Road when he crossed the centerline and collided with an eastbound truck, according to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office. Schmidt’s car spun out and caught fire in the middle of the road. He was declared dead at the site.
The truck driver was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital. The crash blocked traffic on the road for about five hours.
