Fairfax County car crash death of Kaan T. Karabekir of Md and Patrick Mullens of Va – Obituary
Kaan T. Karabekir, 28, of Bethesda, Maryland and Patrick Mullens, 32, of Catlett, Virginia, has been identified as the two men killed in a fatal Fairfax County car crash. The fatal wreck occurred on Tuesday, May 17, 2022
The two men killed in a head-on collision on the Capital Beltway in Fairfax County on Tuesday were identified by Virginia State Police on Thursday.
Patrick Mullens, 32, of Catlett, Virginia, was traveling south in the northbound lanes of the Beltway near Exit 46 for Chain Bridge Road around 10:15 p.m. when his Mazda 3 collided with a Buick Encore driven by Kaan T. Karabekir, 28, of Bethesda, Maryland.
Both males died at the scene and were not wearing seat belts. Karabekir’s automobile was destroyed by fire. A woman was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the police.
The police are still investigating the crash.
