Moniteau County car crash death of Bobby Hirt – Obituary
Bobby Hirt, 41, of Boonville has been identified as the person killed in a fatal Moniteau County car crash that occurred on Monday, May 16, 2022.
A 2009 Chevy HHR crossed Highway 50 east of Springer Hill Road and collided with a 2006 Kenworth T800 truck, according to the collision report.
The driver of the HHR has not been recognized, but a passenger, Bobby Hirt, 41, of Boonville, died at the scene.
Tony Smith, 64, of Holts Summit, was said to have suffered significant injuries while driving the Kenworth. For treatment, he was transferred to St. Mary’s SSM Hospital.
Workers at nearby companies reported seeing and hearing emergency services hurry to the site.
According to the California Fire Department, both automobiles were engulfed in flames when they got on the site.
