Mary Garlow and Dennis Guay have been identified as the people killed in a fatal Vancouver house fire that occurred on April 11, 2022. The fire broke out at a residence in the Gastown neighborhood.
Two persons have been identified as victims of a fire that destroyed a landmark building in Vancouver’s Gastown neighborhood last month.
Mary Garlow, 68, and Dennis Guay, 53, were murdered after the Winters Hotel caught fire on April 11th, according to police.
Hundreds of low-income inhabitants had lived in the hotel since it opened in 1907.
When firefighters arrived, it was too unsafe to try to enter the structure, and they couldn’t tell if anyone else was still inside, according to the fire department.
The fire was caused by candles left unattended in a second-floor apartment, according to the fire department.
