Amherst car crash death of Sayhan Islam – Obituary

19-year-old Amherst teen Sayhan Islam has been identified as the teen killed in a fatal Amherst car crash that occurred on Thursday, May 19, 2022.

According to police investigations, Sayhan Islam, 19, was driving with passengers when his automobile veered off the road soon before 11:30 p.m., striking a telephone pole in hazy and wet highway conditions.

According to the Northwestern district attorney’s office, five passengers in the vehicle were wounded in the incident and were brought to surrounding hospitals for treatment. On Saturday, no further information about their injuries was revealed.

Residents near 711 North East St. phoned 911 after hearing the accident, which prompted Amherst police to arrive.
