Irmo Richland County car crash death of Jon Michael Rosa, 46, of Mount Pleasant dies in fatal Irmo Richland County car crash – Sunday, September 18, 2022. Jon Michael Rosa was the son of the late The Citadel president.
Early on Sunday morning, a collision in the Irmo region of Richland County claimed the lives of Jon Michael Rosa, 46, of Mount Pleasant, and another individual.
The two males were driving a 2021 Tesla westbound on Salem Church Road when it veered off the road and collided with a tree, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Rosa and the other man perished at the site of the collision after the automobile caught fire, according to SCHP. Although troopers claim the Tesla was the only car involved, the circumstances of the collision are still being investigated.
At 1:30 pm, Rosa’s funeral service will take place at The Citadel’s Summerall Chapel. according to a J Henry Stuhr obituary, on Sunday, September 25.

From 2006 until 2018, Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa presided over The Citadel as its 19th president.
