Muncie Ind. car crash death of Donald Dunnuck – Obituary
Muncie attorney and former Delaware County commissioner 84-year-old Donald Dunnuck has been identified as the person killed in a fatal Munie Ind. car crash that occurred on Monday, September 19, 2022.
Donald Dunnuck was heading to IU Health Ball Memorial on Monday night, according to family members, because his wife had been unwell after the family had returned from a trip to Georgia earlier in the day.
He had gone to get his medicine, which was in the car that had transported his wife to the hospital.
According to the crash report, Ball State University police arrived at the scene of the collision at 9:40 p.m. on Monday.
When they arrived, they saw that Dunnuck’s 2012 Chrysler Town & Country had collided directly with a tree close to University Avenue and Tally Avenue.
Both Dunnuck and his companion, his aide Lisa Fordyce, sustained wounds.
Dunnuck’s left leg was jammed underneath the pedals, making it difficult for emergency personnel to remove him from the car.
Dunnuck alerted emergency personnel that he was having problems breathing after being extricated from the car. He was taken urgently to a hospital.
According to authorities, the van’s airbags activated, causing the front end to strike the tree. The back windshield was broken, and the front windshield was smashed.
Later, an officer who went to inquire about a blood draw found out Dunnuck had passed away.
Fordyce’s back was fractured twice, and she broke her sternum.
Fordyce said that she thought the van’s front right tire struck a curb as Dunnuck was turning, resulting in their collision with the tree.
