Dallas TX officer shooting death of Darrell Hibbard – Obituary

64-year-old Darrell Hibbard has been identified as the person killed in a fatal Dallas TX officer shooting that occurred on Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Darrell opened fire on Dallas Police, according to the department. He was killed in the confrontation with police.

According to Dallas Police, police were contacted at at 5:35 a.m. to reports of an armed person in the Casa View neighborhood’s 10300 block of Shiloh Road close to Ruth Ann Drive.

Officers reported spotting a man with a firearm who was 64-year-old Darrell Hibbard, according to the police.

Officer Brandy Walling repeatedly told Hibbard to lay down his rifle as he moved toward her squad car. Prior to Hibbard pointing his gun at her, according to the police, Walling reportedly issued at least 30 verbal commands.

At that point, Hibbard and the cops began exchanging bullets. He was hit multiple times, according to police, and passed away at the hospital.
