San Antonio officer shooting death of Edward Lee Nandin – Obituary
A man was shot and killed by a San Antonio police officer at a hotel on the far West Side.
Edward Lee Nandin, 50, was named as the individual.
On Monday night, shortly before midnight, a shooting took place at a Motel 6 in the 2100 block of Southwest Loop 410.
Nandin was spotted holding cocaine in the parking lot of the motel by officers on patrol when he was standing next to a van.
Nandin resisted attempts to restrain him by a SAPD Street Crimes officer, retrieved a revolver from his own waistband, and fired two bullets.
When the officer was able to get his own weapon out, he fired again, striking Nandin in the upper body. At the scene, he was identified as deceased.
